Leygatehead Moor

DATE : 26th December 2008

After starting from Bowden Bridge I couldn't resist a quick trip up to White Brow to take in the
excellent views to Kinder Scout & Reservoir

Further up the views are even more spectacular

The main aim of the day was to capture views of Sandy Heys from Leygatehead Moor

William Clough, the common route taken to get to Mill Hill from Kinder Reservoir

Looking back to Kinder Reservoir and the western face of Kinder Scout

Great views of Sandy Heys from further up Leygatehead Moor

And again from higher up

Up on Mill Hill now

The post indicates a right turn back to Hayfield but we are following the path up to Kinder Scout

Looking back towards Mill Hill

The low sun is casting a huge shadow over Ashop Clough to the north

On the edge of Sandy Heys

View south over to Kinder's western face

Rocks on Sandy Heys

Back at Mill Hill the late winter sun gives some great light onto Kinder Scout

Similar view

Descending via Leygatehead Moor with some great colour on Sandey Heys

As the sun gets lower Leygatehead Moor casts a large shadow over Sandey Heys

There's still some great light further south

Above the reservoir now and the sun has disappeared for the day
