Instead of the usual ascent to Glyder Fawr our route takes us north west below this large outcrop of rock to Esgair Felen

On Esgair Felen with this great view along Nant Peris & Llanberis

The route up to Glyder Fawr

Close up of Llyns Peris & Padarn with the Elidir Fawr quarry spoil heaps to the right

In front of Elidir Fawr though is Y Garn

Close to Glyder Fawr summit now with Y Garn again behind

The Nant Francon valley

Just visible above the haze are Arenig Fawr (left) the the Arans (right)

Clouds sweep in over Y Garn & in the background Foel Goch

There's more cloud moving in from behind Snowdon

Another view to Y Garn

Cloud forms over Moel Siabod with the Berwyns seen in the distance

Heading across to Glyder Fach

Conditions are now clear on Y Garn

View across to Tryfan

A frozen Llyn Bochlwyd and Llyn Ogwen

Castell y Gwynt with a cloud swamped Snowdon behind

The Cantilever on Glyder Fach has attracted some attention including a curious dog

The Glyders ridge continues east to Y Foel Goch

The cantilever now free of bodies looks fine in the late winter sunshine

I couldn't resist a wander onto the cantilever myself
